Terms of service

Last updated 25 October 2026.

Olancers is a marketplace that introduces companies ("clients") to independent remote professionals ("freelancers"). Olancers is a product of Searlco LTD. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

1. What Olancers does, and doesn't do

Olancers lets clients post jobs and freelancers apply for them. Olancers is not a party to any agreement between a client and a freelancer, does not employ freelancers, and does not hold, process or guarantee payments for work. Clients and freelancers agree the scope, price and payment terms of any work directly with each other.

2. Fees for clients

Posting a job costs $9.99 per job, paid when the job is published. A job stays live for 30 days or until the client closes it, and the client may extend it once, free, for a further 30 days. A job can be edited until it receives its first application; after that it cannot be changed. Receiving applications and inviting freelancers to interview is free. Inviting a freelancer to interview is the only way to message an applicant, and the client must only invite freelancers they genuinely want to talk to. Olancers charges no commission or fee on payments between clients and freelancers. Job post fees are non-refundable once the job is published, except where the law requires otherwise.

3. Fees for freelancers and the wallet

  • To view the job board and apply, a freelancer must add credit to their Olancers wallet, bringing the balance to $30.
  • Applying for jobs is free and unlimited.
  • By applying for a job, the freelancer agrees that an interview fee of $2.99 will be taken from their wallet if the client invites them to interview. A client can only contact an applicant by inviting them to interview, so any contact from a client about a job counts as an interview. The fee is charged at the moment of the invitation, whether or not the freelancer replies, accepts or attends. Freelancers who are not contacted are never charged.
  • The wallet must hold at least $6 at all times. If the balance falls below this, Olancers will automatically charge the freelancer's saved card the automatic top-up amount the freelancer has chosen (from $24). By adding a card the freelancer authorises these automatic charges. The amount and the card can be changed at any time in the wallet.
  • If an automatic top-up fails, the freelancer's account is suspended immediately and all pending applications are removed. The account is reactivated when the wallet is topped up with a working card. Removed applications are not restored.
  • Wallet credit is not a bank deposit, does not earn interest and can only be used for Olancers fees. [ADD YOUR WALLET REFUND POLICY FOR CLOSED ACCOUNTS.]
  • Olancers charges no commission on anything freelancers earn.

4. Staying on the platform

Until an interview starts, jobs, applications, work samples and the public parts of profiles must not contain links to other websites, email addresses, phone numbers, social media or messaging handles, or requests to apply or talk elsewhere (for example a Google Form or a company website). We check for these and may reject or hide them. Users must not try to get around these rules, and we may suspend accounts that do.

4a. After an interview starts

When a client invites a freelancer to interview, each can see the other's full profile, including the contact details they have added. From that point the client and freelancer deal with each other directly: they may talk and work together on or off Olancers and agree payment between themselves. We recommend paying by Wise or PayPal. Olancers does not take part in, monitor or guarantee any work or payment between them.

5. Your account

You must give accurate information, keep your password secure and be at least 18. One person or company may not hold multiple accounts of the same type to avoid fees or restrictions.

6. Content and conduct

You're responsible for what you post. Jobs and profiles must be lawful, honest and not discriminatory. We may remove content or close accounts that break these terms.

7. Liability

Olancers provides the marketplace "as is". We are not responsible for the quality, safety or legality of jobs or work, the ability of clients to pay, or of freelancers to deliver. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Affiliate programme

Affiliates earn 30% of payments made by companies and freelancers who sign up through their link or code, as shown in their affiliate dashboard. Commission is held for 30 days and paid by Wise or PayPal on the 28th of each month (or the following Monday if that falls on a weekend) once the balance reaches $50; smaller balances roll over. Commission on payments that are later refunded or charged back is cancelled, or deducted from the next payment if it has already been paid. Affiliates can't earn commission on their own or linked accounts, and must not use spam, paid search on the Olancers name or misleading claims. We may withhold commission on refunded payments or fraudulent referrals and close affiliate accounts that break these rules.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will tell you about material changes. Questions: support@olancers.com. Olancers is operated by Searlco LTD. [ADD REGISTERED ADDRESS AND COMPANY NUMBER.]
