Questions from clients

Is there a monthly fee?

No. Your account is free. You pay $9.99 only when you post a job.

Do you add a fee to my invoices?

Never. There's no marketplace or processing fee on what you pay freelancers.

Do I pay per applicant or per interview?

No. Applications and interview invites are unlimited and free for companies.

How do I talk to an applicant?

Invite them to interview. That opens a private chat, and it's the only way to message an applicant. Inviting someone counts as an interview and the freelancer pays $2.99 from their wallet, so please only invite people you're genuinely interested in.

What can I see about a freelancer before an interview?

Their first name and initial, country, skills, rate, work samples with the results they got, and their profile with contact details hidden.

What happens when I invite someone to interview?

Your full profiles open up to each other: you see their full name, email, phone, website and portfolio, and they see your name, company name and contact details. From then on it's between you: talk on Olancers or anywhere you like.

When can we swap emails, phone numbers and links?

As soon as you invite someone to interview. Before that, jobs and applications can't contain links, email addresses, phone numbers or requests to apply elsewhere.

How do I pay a freelancer?

Directly. There's no fee from us on anything you pay. We recommend Wise (cheap international transfers in their currency) or PayPal: make sure you both have an account. Open a free Wise account.

Can I link to a Google Form or our careers page?

No. Freelancers apply on Olancers, and we check every job as you write it. Ask your questions in the job description, or send forms and links in the chat once you invite someone to interview.

How long does a job stay live?

30 days. If you need longer you can extend it once, free, for another 30 days, so a job can be live for up to 60 days. After that, post it again as a new job.

Can I change my job after posting it?

Yes, until the first application arrives. After that the job is locked, so everyone applies to the same job. If the role changes, close it and post a new one.
